Shadow Reviews Mega Man Star Force!!!!!!

Yeah, Yeah. I know waht you're already thinking. "Shadow's reviewing MMSF???"  Yeah, I am. Well...I'm gonna try.  Anyway, here goes!!!

After Battle Network 6, people were saying that the BN series was starting to get old. (I wasn't one of them) So, Capcom came out with Mega Man Star Force!! Or Ryuusei no Rockman, which ever you perfer. Anyway, as soon as it came out everyone was talking about this game. Saying what they thought about it. Some good, some bad.  Where was I? Well...I was still playing MMBN3 trying to get everything on it(Which reminds me, I need to finish that) But, as I went around and heard about the game I more or less figured I'd get the game sooner or later. However everyone talking about it made me a little curious about it. Was it a good game or not? So, I decided to head over to the "Reviews" section of a couple of sites and check it out.  But, instead it didn't help out as much as I thought. IGN, Gamespy, and Gamespot were all pretty much saying," It's another MMBN game!" "Should have been called MMBN7!" and the like, grading it a low, 3/5 or 6/10.  But on these same sites everyone else was saying," You're nuts!! It's a great game!!" "Star Force rules!" and grading it a 10/10 and the like. Well, this only confused me more. Is Mega Man Star Force a good game or not!? So, I dicided the best way to find out is to play the game myself and see. Well, I have and this is pretty much what I have to say about it.

Mega Man Star Force is a pretty good game. If you are a Mega Man fan you'll love the game. It has a lot of new features and new things to do. However there are some cons of the game as well.
Pros:                               Cons:
New characters                 Locked to the back row of a battle
New Story Line                 Kinda the same to MMBN (Sorta)
New battle play                 Can get repetive
New powers
Long Story

Well, the main part is that you are introduced into a new world. You have new characters, like Geo and Omega-Xis, you have a new style of battle and some new powers. The story line is pretty long and there's a lot to do.
You start off as Geo, who lost his father in a space accident and eventually meet Omega-Xis. When the two fuse they become Mega Man.  So already the storyline is getting a little interesting, right? Anyway, for someone who has never really played a DS(Yeah, just got one with the game. That's how much I wanted it!) I was a little confused with the battles! I mean I was used to MMBN's style and this kinda threw me off! But I quickly got the hang of it and it turns out it's not so bad. Also the Star Force power you get in the game is cool too! But anyway, battle play is from Mega Man's back looking foward instead of looking at the side of the whole board. So it's kinda like you're really in the battle!! With some extra stuff like Counters and the Star Force power the games is pretty good!

However, once you do get the hang of the battle play it does get kinda repetive. And being locked in the back row with no way to move foward, except by countering is not that great. I have heard a lot of people saying that the game is like MMBN. Well...yes it is. However I don't really see that as all bad. I mean this is a new game that most people who are gonna play it are the ones who own a MMBN game. So, let's get them to the DS, get comfortable with it and then we can move on! But still keep a little MMBN in the game I say! I'm gonna miss the BN series and something that will remind me of the old games won't be so bad. Also you gotta remember that this is only the first game. Go replay MMBN1 and compare it to the other BN games and you'll get my drift!

All in all it's a good game. Anyone who's played the BN series and loved it will totally love this game too. It's a good ame for someone who's never played the MM games and for thoses who don't like the MMBN games..well you probably won't like this much either, but then again who knows? You might! It has some flaws but so does every other game out there. And sadly I don't have enough time to go into the whole Brother Band and Cipher mail here. But a short version is that you can Brother with other people in the game as well as in real life gain there fav. Battle Cards and Star Force powers and kick some butt!! You will need the Wi-fi adapter or go to a hotspot though. and Sadly no wi-fi battles...in this game. But you'll have some fun either way. I can't wi-fi yet(No adatper cry) But one of the most asked questions of the game, is one I'll be asking soon too.....Anyone want to Brother??? smile

Wonder why I forgot to put this up earlier??  ->
                                                                      Shadow's Score:
                                                                      A nice 4 out of 5
                                                                      Great game, just needs a
little work, but this is the
                                                                      first game of the series!

Well, it's a good game. I like it a lot. and there's a lot of stuff to do in the game as well. I kinda forgot to put all this up there too, but with the wi-fi and stuff you can send e-mails to your friends, customize your own avatar if you want, pick your fav. bttle cards for your brothers to use, and have little messages and stuff on your profile for everyone. Think I would have remembered that. Anyway, there's a whole bunch of stuff in the game. like taking jobs from everyone in the game....and I mean everyone!! So there's a lot. I'd go into more but I don't know if I'm spoiling it or not. Speaking of which I need to go and try to find all the Standered Cards. Yes, I'm still trying to get everything. >_> and you do get brothers in the game, if I didn't make that clear enough above. Anyway, if I'm leaving out anything or you still want to know some more just let me know! O.k.? Now, to get those remaining Battle Cards!!!! Hahahaha!!
